We first heard about the proposed “pickleplex” at South Lakes Sports Complex back in 2021. Since then, not much has been said about it until last week when the project was again presented to the Wichita City Council for approval.

When it was originally approved in October 2021, the estimated cost of the project was $3M. The construction costs have since doubled; thus, necessitating for the amended budget to be approved. City council members voted unanimously in favor of proceeding.
