Big Bang Team Tournament
(formerly Nahola) 5228 W Central, Wichita, KSThis is an exclusive MLP-style team tournament at The Pickle Club (6 teams max). Teams must consist of 2 men and 2 women.
Format: Round Robin (morning) + Single Elimination Bracket (afternoon)
This is an all-day event with team round robin in the morning and single elimination bracket play in the afternoon. Doors open at 7:30 AM and play starts at 8:00 AM.
Matches are best 3 out of 4 games and consist of
- 1 women’s doubles game
- 1 men’s doubles game
- 2 mixed doubles game (only 1 mixed if the same team wins 3 games in a row)
- 1 optional dreambreaker game if the teams split 2-2
- The dreambreaker is a singles round where all team members must take turns playing. Players switch after every 4 points until one team reaches 11, win by 1.
Who reveals their mixed doubles and singles line up first? Flip for who has to reveal their mixed doubles line up first. The team that reveals their mixed doubles line up last must reveal their singles line up first if there is a dreambreaker round.
What does MLP-style mean? MLPlay game format is rally scoring. The partners stay on their respective sides and alternate serving based on their score (if the score is even, the partner on the right serves; if the score is odd, the partner on the left serves) until they lose a point and the other team takes the serve. It will be rally scoring until teams reach 10 points. The first team to reach 11 wins, but teams must win on their serve.
Bracket play in the afternoon will be single elimination except the two 3rd place teams will play for bronze at the same time as the championship match.
Cost: Entry fee is $35 per player for members of the Pickle Club and $45 per player for non-members/guests.
