Your team’s DUPR score, to place you in a Level, will be calculated when one of the team’s players registers and pays for their team (will need to know each teammates DUPR rating when registering). The cost for this event is $150 per team. One week before the tournament, team DUPR totals will be calculated again. If your team’s total is above the parameters of the level you are in, either 1) will have do a replacement to meet the level’s parameters, or, if possible, move up a level.
Format….Teams will play three round robin matches of three games per match. Each player will play two games of rally scoring to 21, and have to win by 2, winning.game point on their serve.
Each player will have a bye each match also. Standings will be determined by the following:
1) Match wins
2) Head to head (if 2 teams tied)
3) Total games won
4) Differential
5) Points allowed
Player 1 of each team will have the team’s highest DUPR rating. Player 2, the second highest, and Player 3, the lowest DUPR rating. Each match of round robin and bracket will be set up in the following order:
Game 1……Players 2 and 3 of each team will play each other
Game 2……Players 1 and 2 of each team will play each other
Game 3…..Players 1 and 3 of each team will play each other
All games will be played because one of the tiebreakers is Total Games Won
Coin toss, or equivalent, will only decide these aspects
1. Side (switch at 11)
2. serve or receive
If there are 4 or 8 teams in a level, after round robin play, all teams will move into a seeded single elimination bracket. If 6 teams in a level, then top 2 from each of the two pools will advance to bracket play.
If an injury happens during round robin play, a substitute can take the place of the injured player for a $25 substitution fee and has to be able to start playing within 15 minutes of the injured player not being able to continue.
NO SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED IN BRACKET PLAY. Team will have to WITHDRAW.
