Nahola Fitness Center (CLOSED)

UPDATE: Nahola’s last day of business is February 28, 2022.

Even though they have a limited number of pickleball courts, Nahola is hands-down one of my most favorite places to play. I went to check out their Friday night open play about a year and a half ago and I was hooked. The open play drop in for non-members is $7 but open play is free for members so it was a no-brainer. Once I decided this would be my permanent Friday night pickleball spot, I decided to become a member.

NAHOLA, 5228 W CENTRAL AVE, 316-295-2102, $7 OPEN PLAY DROP IN FOR NON-MEMBERS (FREE FOR MEMBERS)

Nahola business hours are as follows:

  • Monday through Thursday – 8 AM to 8 PM
  • Friday – 8 AM to 7 PM
  • Saturday – 10 AM to 3 PM
  • Sunday – 12 PM to 3 PM

Private reservations are available outside of their posted hours as long as you make prior arrangements. For instance, we have a standing reservation from 7-9 PM every Friday.

Nahola has 2 regular courts with an outdoor tennis court surface and 1 court with a gym floor surface. The reservations are done in 90 minute blocks. The reservation fees are as follows:

2 REGULAR COURTS – OUTDOOR TENNIS COURT SURFACE

REGULAR COURTS

  • Non-members: $7 on weekdays (before 5:30 PM), $10 on nights and weekends
  • Members: $2.50 on weekdays, $5 on nights and weekends
1 GYM COURT – GYM FLOOR SURFACE, LOWER CEILING THAN REGULAR COURTS

GYM COURT

  • Non-members: $2.50 on weekdays (before 5:30 PM), $5 on nights and weekends
  • Members: free on weekdays, $3 on nights and weekends

You can learn more about reservations and pricing here. You can also reserve courts online or check the open play schedule by using their online reservation system.

The building went up for sale recently but I’m hoping the new owners will keep this as a pickleball facility because it is a fixture in the Wichita Pickleball community. Nahola is the place to go if you want to advance your pickleball skills because they’ve got two of the best pickleball teachers in town (Kayla Keuter and Chris Heck).
