Edgemoor Park had the first dedicated outdoor pickleball courts in Wichita. The pickleball courts on the South side (courts 1 to 6) existed long before Seneca Park pickleball courts were built.
This map shows the layout of the courts. Here are some highlights so you know what to expect when you go:
North Courts
- Courts 7 to 12
- Lighted
- Newer surface
- Better nets
- No wind screens
South Courts
- Courts 1 to 6
- No lights
- Original courts
- Older nets
- Has wind screens
The outdoor courts are open to the public 24 hours a day but the lights don’t work after 10 or 11 PM and restroom access is limited to when the Rec Center is open. Rec Center hours are typically as follows (but may vary when there are special events or holidays):
- Monday thru Thursday – 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Friday – 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday – 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
NOTE: They may be open on Saturday and Sunday mornings but those hours are not specifically listed online so I didn’t list them.
The recreation center offers open play inside on three pickleball courts painted on wood, basketball gym floors. There is a $3 drop in fee per player, per session.
The Summer 2024 indoor open play schedule is as follows:
- Saturday and Sunday – 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Tuesday and Thursday – 1:15 PM to 3:15 PM
NOTE: The weekend open play schedule pretty much stays the same year-round; however, the weekday open play times vary throughout the year. Your best bet will be to either call the office at (316) 688-9392 or check the City of Wichita Park & Recreation website.
