13th Street Sports Park

13TH STREET SPORTS PARK, 1008 E. 13TH ST, ANDOVER

This city of Andover unveiled four new lighted pickleball courts at the 13th Street Sports Park this summer. In addition to the pickleball courts, this location also offers other sports facilities such as 5 baseball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, and a basketball court. There are two playgrounds and a splash pad for the kiddos and there is a walking path that connects to the Redbud Trail.

When there aren’t any reservations, the 4 courts are free for everyone to use on a first come, first served basis. There’s not really a paddle-stacking system in place. However, the rules do state that play should be limited to one hour if others are waiting. I’ve played here a couple of times and have not encountered any issues, other than all 4 four courts tend to be full on nice evenings.

If you only need one court, it’s usually not a problem just showing up and grabbing one. However, if you want to guarantee use of two or more courts, I highly recommend making a reservation.

Unfortunately, you cannot reserve just one court. The pickleball courts are reserved as a block of 4 but the price is pretty reasonable — $50 per hour. You can even set your court reservation to recur on a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis. The city posts as sign at the gate to notify the public whenever the courts are booked for a private group/event.

Reservations are done through the city of Andover website where you can book various facilities. Select 13th Street Sports Park from the Location list and then click on Pickleball Courts.
